Marketing for software and SaaS
Software purchases do not come from an ad. They come from a problem somebody in a department has had for months, from research, from comparisons, and from a trial phase in which the product itself has to convince.
We build visibility for exactly that route: on the problem terms that come before the product name, with content that takes technical readers seriously, and with measurement that reaches the trial sign-up rather than stopping at the click.

Why software vendors need their own approach
Nobody searches for your product name before they know it
The biggest mistake in software marketing is assuming the audience searches for the product. They search for the problem: a way out of duplicate data entry, a faster way to produce quotes, software for one specific process.
A second characteristic comes on top. In technical audiences every marketing claim gets checked. An unsupported statement costs more trust here than it wins attention. So we work with verifiable examples, numbers with a source, and content a developer takes seriously.
From problem search to trial sign-up
Between the first search and the buying decision sit several stages: problem research, understanding the category, comparing vendors, the trial, and only then internal sign-off. Each stage needs different content.
We build that chain completely, because individual pieces of it achieve little. A strong comparison article without a clean sign-up flow loses prospects exactly where it gets expensive.
Marketing, product and sales interlock
In the software business, marketing does not end at the sign-up page. Whether a trial turns into a paying customer is decided in the first days of use, and those days can be supported.
So we agree which content is needed inside the product and in the accompanying communication, so trial users reach the first real benefit before their attention moves on.

What we do for software vendors
01 / Owning problem and category terms
We work out the words your audience uses to describe their problem before they know a product category exists, and cover those terms with content that genuinely helps. That is the part of demand competitors never reach with product pages.
02 / Comparison and alternative pages
Before deciding, people compare, and they do it in their own words: alternatives, comparisons, experiences. We build those pages factually and verifiably, without talking competitors down, because technical audiences see through that immediately.
03 / Content with real substance
Documentation-grade articles, worked calculations, integration guides and honest product limits. Content like this gets shared, linked and increasingly quoted by AI systems. How that works is described by our GEO agency in Cologne.
04 / Campaigns on need, not on reach
Paid search on problem and competitor terms, LinkedIn on role and company size. Tightly steered, because in this market a few right contacts are worth more than many arbitrary ones.
05 / Sign-up and onboarding route
The sign-up page, the length of the form and the first days after registration belong together. We optimise the route up to the point where users have experienced the first real benefit, because that is where conversion into a paying customer is decided.
06 / Measurement across the whole path
From first visit through trial sign-up to close, with clean tracking and CRM feedback. Without that chain, every campaign optimises for registrations instead of revenue.
We speak the language of technical audiences
Software vendors rarely fail at marketing because of budget and often because of tone. Promotional superlatives do not work with an audience that can check every claim and does.
So we work with verifiable statements, worked examples and the willingness to name the limits of the product openly. In this market that works better than any campaign idea.
Working with product teams
In software projects we work closely with product and engineering, because the best content comes from product knowledge and not from agency research.
In practice that means fixed sessions with your team, joint topic planning and technical sign-off before publication. It costs your people time, and it is the reason the content holds up in the end.
What software vendors get out of it
Demand before the product name
Credibility with technical audiences
More qualified trial sign-ups
Presence in AI answers
Shorter sales cycles
Measurement through to revenue

How does SaaS marketing differ from classic B2B marketing?
The trial phase. In classic B2B the marketing work ends at the meeting, in software it is decided after sign-up whether a paying customer emerges. So the onboarding route belongs to marketing in content terms, not only to customer service.
Is SEO worth it for software vendors?
In most cases yes, because the research phase is long and runs almost entirely online. What matters is the focus on problem and category terms. Optimising only for your own product name reaches exclusively people who already know the product.
How do you handle competitor comparison pages?
Factually and with your own numbers. Trying to push out third-party comparison pages usually fails. Offering your own honest comparisons and naming the limits of your own product builds trust in technical audiences and gets quoted more often.
What role does LinkedIn play for software vendors?
A significant one, though not for quick closes. LinkedIn is suited to reaching roles and company sizes deliberately and to creating demand that does not yet exist in search. The closes usually happen later through search or direct contact.
From what company size is this worth it?
We work both with products shortly after launch and with established vendors. The requirement is a product that solves a clearly nameable problem, and the willingness to contribute expertise from your team.
How long until first results?
Paid campaigns deliver first sign-ups within a few weeks. Organic visibility on problem terms takes six to nine months, then holds considerably longer and costs a fraction per contact.
